OUR STORY
I am a fertility specialty pharmacist, and I have a personal fertility journey to share. My husband and I faced challenges with fertility on both sides, and although my clinical knowledge and experience as a pharmacist gave me some insight, I quickly realized how unprepared we were for the road ahead. While I may have had a slight advantage, nothing could have braced us for this isolating, emotionally, and physically exhausting journey that lay before us.
What should have been an intimate and beautiful process—conceiving a child—became deeply impersonal. We found ourselves shuttled between specialists, each offering different advice on how to proceed. But who was truly advocating for us?
The process was overwhelming: finding the right fertility clinic, undergoing countless preliminary tests and pre-cycle procedures, navigating treatment, self-administering injectable medications, enduring constant bloodwork and monitoring—and then waiting anxiously to see if it all worked.

I am deeply grateful for my fertility journey for two reasons: it led to the arrival of our beautiful daughter and inspired a significant career shift. I went on to lead a fertility specialty pharmacy, and through my work, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with patients who share the same stories time and time again.
The fertility process can be overwhelming and impersonal, even with a team of doctors and nurses by your side. It’s often difficult to see the full picture, and the self-administration of medications adds an extra layer of stress, with limited guidance available. Over time, I realized I wanted to provide a more personal level of care. Running a pharmacy didn’t allow me the time or capacity to fully support each patient in the way they deserved. That’s when Ruakh Fertility was born.
